The proposal for the Uniswap co-branded Visa card was opposed by half of the community members
ChainCatcher news, Switzerland's regulated bank Fiat24, based on Arbitrum, has proposed a collaboration with Uniswap to launch a co-branded Visa debit card. Fiat24 emphasizes that despite Uniswap's daily trading volume reaching $600 million, there is still significant room for growth compared to the daily trading volume of global foreign exchange ($7.5 trillion). The proposal by Fiat24 aims to integrate Uniswap more deeply into mainstream, traditional financial transactions.
The proposed Visa card will initially be available to residents of the 27 countries in the European Union, with plans to expand to Southeast Asia and Latin American countries in the future. The card will be denominated in euros and will support Apple Pay and Google Pay. Fiat24 stated that the plan requires no effort or cost from the Uniswap DAO, with all labor and associated costs borne by Fiat24. Currently, the voting opposition rate for this proposal stands at 51.49%, with voting set to conclude on October 28.
