The judge rejected SBF's request to present the lack of cryptocurrency regulations and FTX recovery issues to the jury
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, a judge in the New York area has made some criticisms of SBF's lawyers regarding what may be mentioned in his trial, including the recovery of assets in the FTX bankruptcy case and the lack of cryptocurrency regulation in the United States. The judge denied SBF's lawyers' request to reconsider a previous ruling that prohibited the former CEO from mentioning evidence of asset recovery in the FTX bankruptcy proceedings.
According to documents from Wednesday, "As the court has already ruled, from a legal standpoint, it is irrelevant whether the defendant intended to repay (or was able to repay) the misappropriated funds, because in the case being referred to here, there exists immediate malicious misappropriation and fraudulent intent, and the criminal act has been completed."
