ChainCatcher News, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to remove Speaker McCarthy, making him the first Speaker of the House in American history to be ousted. The House Financial Services Committee Chair Patrick McHenry, who is friendly to cryptocurrency, has been appointed as the interim Speaker of the House. The House will now need to elect a new Speaker, and McCarthy can run for the position again.

Since last year, Patrick McHenry has been working on several cryptocurrency bills. A bill that would establish guardrails for U.S. stablecoins and another bill that would create broad rules for the cryptocurrency market have both been approved by the Financial Services Committee and are expected to be submitted for a full vote as early as next month.
