SBF will begin trial tomorrow, starting with jury selection
ChainCatcher news, the trial of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried will begin tomorrow, starting with jury selection, a process that may take several days. Michael Popok, managing partner at Zumpano Patricios law firm, stated that the court will first assemble a group of 20 to 30 potential jurors, then narrow it down to about 9 jurors, along with several alternate jurors.
Over the next six weeks, U.S. prosecutors will attempt to prove that SBF intentionally deceived clients and business partners, presenting thousands of pages of evidence, including internal documents and audio recordings. The most compelling evidence may come from the memories and personal views of SBF's former colleagues, friends, and roommates. Prosecutors also indicated plans to subpoena FTX clients and investors during the trial, including non-U.S. clients.
