ChainCatcher news, court documents show that U.S. District Court Judge Lewis A. Kaplan stated that SBF cannot blame the collapse or operation of FTX on his lawyers during opening statements, although he may later attempt to make a so-called "advice of counsel" defense. Previously, SBF's defense team claimed that FTX's lawyers were involved in certain decisions of the company, but Judge Kaplan stated that such vague assertions without specific details could confuse the jury or lead to bias.

Earlier reports indicated that SBF has been accusing his law firm Sullivan & Cromwell over the past few months, claiming that they betrayed their duty to act in the best interests of their client.
