The highly anticipated 7th Big Demo Day was successfully held on September 27 at Cyberport, Hong Kong. This Big Demo Day was co-hosted by Cyberport Hong Kong and Central Research, with co-organizers including Nautilus Chain, Techub News, IOST, and CryptoPhd. Institutions such as InvestHK, Hashkey Capital, OKLINK, AlienSwap, OKX WEB3, Wanxiang Blockchain Lab, Stratified Capital, MT Capital, WikiEXPO, and media outlets including Hong Kong Now TV, Techub News, Deep Tide, Chain Catcher, Golden Finance, Marsbit, Finmeta, Cointime, R3PO, Coin Xiaobai, Gyro Finance, Daling Research, Visit Blockchain, World Chain Finance, DeFam, TokenDance, Square DAO, Chain Dada, Zhongjin Network, WikiBit, and Blocklike supported this large-scale project roadshow event in Hong Kong.
Since its inception on March 4, Big Demo Day has seen over 160 project teams present their pitches. Numerous Web3 companies engaged in financing, collaboration, and other business activities during Big Demo Day, further promoting the development of Hong Kong's Web3 industry. This Big Demo Day event invited representatives from Cyberport Hong Kong, local well-known enterprises, and Web3 experts to interpret the policies and support from the Hong Kong government and Cyberport in the Web3 field.
Ms. Dylan Lee, co-founder of Central Research, attended the event and delivered a welcome speech, introducing that Central Research is a local Web3 fund in Hong Kong, primarily engaged in investment research, incubation, and Big Demo Day. Its members are seasoned professionals in the Web3 industry, possessing deep investment research capabilities and rich global marketing resources, providing comprehensive post-investment services for the projects they invest in.
At the same time, Rachel Lee from Cyberport Hong Kong attended the event and provided a detailed introduction to the Cyberport Web3 base and incubation program, enabling more Web3 projects to better and more accurately connect.
Roundtable Discussion
Industry leaders from Web3, including May Liu from Bybit, Julia Hu from C Capital, Carter Lam from IOST Hong Kong, Sky Lai from J17 Capital, Gilbert Ng from Mulana Capital, Ryan Chan from Baker McKenzie, and Henri Centieiro from Hashkey Capital, discussed the sustainability of Hong Kong's policies on Web3, as well as the government's support and layout for the Web3 industry.
In the afternoon project pitching session, the first round featured five projects that showcased their creativity and potential, winning the favor of the audience and investment institutions present.
3TChat
Top Business INC. is a high-tech company focused on communication, encryption, and social fields. FairLaunchPad
A fairer ERC20 launch platform. On June 1, 2023, @jackygu.eth developed the FairERC-20 (abbreviated as FERC20) protocol inspired by the Ordinals protocol, achieving fair launches on Ethereum through smart contracts. Its open and transparent launch philosophy, along with its technology inclusiveness and decentralized spirit, quickly ignited various communities, bringing much-needed ecological innovation back to Ethereum.
BurnYou
BurnYou is a blockchain platform that facilitates NFT trading and IP incubation through operating NFT battle events. The events mainly include NFT 1v1 single challenges and group annihilation battles of NFT collections. All events determine the final outcome through public voting, with the losing party's NFTs being completely destroyed, while the winning NFTs receive promotional funds and community attention. Meanwhile, BurnYou also provides various IP operation functions for outstanding NFTs and their holders and creators, including NFT trading, full-network promotion of NFT IP, building IP DAOs, crowdfunding for fans, and peripheral product crowdfunding. The DApp is developed based on the Ethereum network and ensures the transparency and credibility of event voting through cryptographic technologies such as Merkle Tree and Layer 2 networks, while also reducing user costs. BurnYou's goal is to promote the value rise and dissemination of outstanding NFT works through large-scale elimination in the NFT market, incubating new IPs belonging to the new generation of young people in the new blockchain world.

Debate Session
With the recent collapse of Jpex Exchange, attention has been drawn to the security issues of CEX. The debate theme for this Big Demo Day VII event was "CEX VS DEX -- Which is the User's Choice?" Industry veterans from various VCs and exchanges engaged in a lively debate discussing the differences and benefits of CEX and DEX, focusing on what aspects are most valued and need attention when using DEX and CEX platforms.
In the second round of project pitching, four projects from the Web3 industry presented captivating speeches showcasing the thriving development of the Web3 sector.
FilFi
FilFi is a DeFi protocol based on the Web3 storage public chain Filecoin virtual machine. FilFi aims to connect all participants of Filecoin - sp, Fil holders, and device owners in a completely decentralized manner through smart contracts, integrating resources, reshaping the industry development environment, and promoting the healthy development of the Filecoin network.
Space Alpaca
In recent years, GAMEFI projects have flourished, attracting more and more players. In this enthusiastic atmosphere, Space Alpaca aims to create an entire gaming ecosystem, including games, guilds, decentralized wallets, and gaming incubation pools. SPAL addresses the pain points of past projects with a token economic model that connects various gameplay and games, allowing game tokens to be shared across all games.
