Ethereum core developers: Due to the failure of the Holesky testnet launch, the activation of the Dencun mainnet is unlikely to occur this year
ChainCatcher news, Galaxy's Vice President of Research Christine Kim published a summary yesterday of the 118th Ethereum Core Developers Consensus Meeting (ACDC). The meeting primarily discussed the preparations for Devnet-9 and changes to the Ethereum Consensus Layer (CL).
Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko raised questions about the Dencun testing timeline during the meeting, as it was previously suggested to launch Dencun in the following order on the testnets: Holesky, Goerli, and then Sepolia. However, due to a network configuration error, the Holesky testnet failed to launch and will be restarted on September 28. Therefore, Tim Beiko indicated that if developers cannot confirm the release of Dencun on the public testnet before the Ethereum Developer Conference Devconnect in November 2023, the mainnet activation of Dencun is unlikely to occur this year.
Previous news reported that the Ethereum Holesky testnet encountered significant issues due to a network configuration error, leading to its failure to launch, with plans for a restart on September 28.
