NRL players and YouTube celebrities reach a settlement in the FTX class action lawsuit

ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, NRL players Trevor Lawrence, YouTube celebrities Kevin Paffrath and Tom Nash have chosen to settle with FTX investors, who accused them of not fully disclosing their compensation while promoting FTX, but the specific terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.

This is the first settlement reached in the FTX class action lawsuit, with other individuals facing class action lawsuits including American football player Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen, investor Kevin O'Leary, former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, tennis star Naomi Osaka, and former Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz.

On September 11, a court document revealed that FTX is considering how to recover marketing payments made to star athletes and teams that promoted the cryptocurrency exchange before its bankruptcy in November 2022. According to the document, Trevor Lawrence received $205,555, Shaquille O'Neal received approximately $750,000, and Kevin O'Leary received $2,348,338.
