Former Huobi employee set up a Trojan on iToken to steal private keys
ChainCatcher news, according to reports from Wu, due to a former employee setting up a Trojan, some users' mnemonic phrases or private keys of iToken (formerly Huobi Wallet) have been leaked. Users have reported that this week the iToken system prompted users that some wallet addresses have security risks, and a security agency submitted that Refundyourcoins implemented asset protection, transferring funds from some users' addresses to secure addresses. Refundyourcoins will launch a recovery feature to facilitate asset retrieval, involving four chains: BTC, ETH, TRX, and XRP.
Some users' funds are suspected to have been stolen. A user whose account was hacked provided a hacker address showing that this address has stolen from 5 accounts, totaling 1.39 million dollars, occurring on September 2. HTX responded to Wu, stating that it is unrelated to Huobi HTX. The Trojan set up by former Huobi employees for personal gain to steal others' mnemonic phrases and private keys is currently under investigation. HTX will actively cooperate to combat crime.
