Cryptocurrency payment company Ramp has added Brazil's central bank Pix system as a payment method
ChainCatcher news, the crypto payment startup Ramp Network has added Brazil's central bank's Pix system as a payment method, thereby expanding into the South American market.
It is reported that the Pix system was launched by the Central Bank of Brazil in 2021, aiming to serve as a fast transfer system between individuals, businesses, and government entities, with over 70% of Brazilians reportedly using the system.
According to the crypto data platform RootData, on August 23, the crypto payment company Ramp announced the completion of a $300 million financing round with a post-money valuation of $5.8 billion, led by Thrive Capital and Sands Capital, with participation from General Catalyst, Founders Fund, and other existing supporters. The new funds will be used to accelerate product development and expand hiring in the second half of this year.
