F2Pool co-founder: Due to time zone differences, Paxos claimed nearly 20 BTC in fees after the deadline
ChainCatcher news, F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun stated regarding "Paxos claiming nearly 20 BTC in fees" that due to time zone differences, the claim was actually made after the initially announced deadline.
Wang Chun said: "I am very annoyed and regret agreeing to return those 20 BTC. Especially when I see the claimant consistently referring to EST instead of EDT/UTC time. Last time someone from Zcash did this, I banned his entire company."
Wang Chun has initiated a poll to gather community opinions on this matter. As of the time of publication, among 1,947 voters, 36.8% believe the fees should be allocated to miners, 27.3% think they should be returned to Paxos, 21.3% voted to freeze this portion of BTC, while the remaining voters support splitting it between miners and Paxos.
Previously, regarding "a Bitcoin transaction fee of 19.82 BTC around 1 AM on September 11," Wang Chun stated on the X platform that he would temporarily set aside these approximately 20 BTC, and if no one claims them within three days, they will be redistributed to miners.
Later, stablecoin issuer Paxos acknowledged in a statement on September 13 that the account that paid nearly 20 BTC in fees in a single transaction on September 11 belonged to Paxos.
