Bitget held its first EmpowerX summit in Singapore on September 12, with nearly 1,900 attendees witnessing this Web3 event. During the conference, 247 speakers and partners discussed topics such as the technological integration of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, institutional investment trends in the crypto industry, innovations in the Web3 sector, and the future economy.

The keynote speech by venture capitalist Tim Draper received significant attention, stating, "I love what Bitget is doing—bringing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to the masses," and emphasized that "a good user experience and user interface are the biggest attractions, which will bring a broader audience to the crypto industry."

Haseeb Qureshi, Managing Partner at Dragonfly Capital, shared his insights during the keynote speech, highlighting the explosive growth of on-chain settlements and revealing that "over $110 trillion in stablecoins were settled on-chain in 2022, which represents a settlement volume greater than Visa. There are 25 million addresses holding more than $1, which, in terms of user numbers, is equivalent to the fifth-largest bank in the United States." This data indicates the large number of users utilizing stablecoins today, underscoring the rapid expansion of the cryptocurrency market.

Gracy Chen, General Manager of Bitget, delivered a speech at the beginning of the event, outlining Bitget's mission to empower global users in cryptocurrency trading and assist businesses in realizing the vision of decentralized practical applications.

Subsequently, industry leaders such as TRON DAO founder Justin Sun, Kaito AI founder and CEO Yu Hu, Hack VC Managing Partner Alexander Pack, Stanford University professor and Shannon Award winner David Tse participated in an engaging roundtable discussion, delving into the future of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the internet.

The EmpowerX summit included six roundtable discussions, featuring speakers such as Mihailo Bjelic, co-founder of Polygon, Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder of Mysten Labs, Bryan Pellegrino, co-founder of LayerZero, Alexandre Dreyfus, founder of Chiliz, Sander Gortjes, co-founder of Hello Labs, Michael Gronager, co-founder of Chainalysis, and Sebastien Borget, co-founder of Sandbox. Additionally, Carl Hua, Investment Partner and CTO of Dragonfly Capital, and Tony Cheung, Partner at Foresight Ventures, were also invited to attend the conference.

Bitget is gradually transforming from a cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform into a comprehensive ecosystem platform. Earlier this year, Bitget invested an additional $30 million in BitKeep, becoming its majority shareholder. On August 10, the Web3 multi-chain wallet BitKeep officially completed its brand upgrade, rebranding as Bitget Wallet.

During the summit, Bitget announced the establishment of a $100 million EmpowerX fund, symbolizing Bitget's strong commitment to promoting ecosystem development, aiming to build a complete ecosystem that provides diversified services to meet the multiple needs of global users.

One of the most notable moments at the EmpowerX summit was the Web3 project roadshow held in collaboration with HELLO Labs. During the summit, attendees were fortunate to watch a live performance of the Killer Whales reality show, where four competing projects showcased their ideas in front of the judging panel, ultimately, Lava stood out. Lava is an open standard for blockchain RPC and API, designed to simplify the development of web3 applications using blockchain data while ensuring the timeliness and practicality of the data.

The global digital asset market is rapidly expanding, and as the industry develops and infrastructure continues to improve, digital assets have become an indispensable part of the global financial system. Bitget is actively broadening its business scope, creating a comprehensive ecosystem that includes trading, investment, research, DeFi, media, and more, while also driving the progress of the industry.
