ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, the Web3 browser Opera has announced the launch of a stablecoin wallet MiniPay in Africa, allowing African users to send or receive stablecoins using their existing mobile numbers. This non-custodial wallet operates on the Celo blockchain and is aimed at facilitating P2P stablecoin transactions for users on the platform in Africa.

MiniPay will be launched in the coming months, starting first in Nigeria. The wallet is also integrated with local payment methods such as Airtime and MPesa, as well as traditional bank transfer methods, allowing users to add and withdraw stablecoins from the wallet and exchange them for local currency.

Jørgen Arnesen, Vice President of Opera's mobile division, revealed that they have developed the Opera Mini browser for Africa, enabling users to access the internet and obtain information without spending a large portion of their monthly income.
