Starknet initiates the proposal for a simplified decentralized protocol "Simple Decentralized Protocol Proposal"
ChainCatcher news, according to official sources, the Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution Starknet has initiated a simplified decentralized protocol proposal titled "Simple Decentralized Protocol Proposal," aimed at enabling the community to propose a simple and complete decentralized Starknet protocol candidate, allowing for maximum simplification of the protocol under the assumption that more than 2/3 of the staked assets are honest.
The simplified protocol will mainly consist of four key components:
A proof-of-stake based leader election to determine the schedule for block proposers;
The creation of a Tendermint-style consensus protocol for the proposer network to reach consensus on each block;
A chain proof mechanism where each proposer must prove the previous block, ensuring the decentralization of the proof;
Timed L1 state updates to periodically migrate L2 state to L1 while merging chain proofs.
