As the world transitions from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0, blockchain technology is gradually influencing the development of society as a whole. The decentralized construction of infrastructure has become the cornerstone and an indispensable part of Web 3.0. Accelerating and establishing a robust decentralized infrastructure has become a top priority for realizing the transition to Web 3.0.
In fact, the idea of decentralization through blockchain first emerged within the Bitcoin network. Since the Bitcoin network is open, anyone can connect, and anyone can verify transactions at any time. The machines connected to the network are called "nodes," which can be understood as the Bitcoin network being composed of thousands of nodes that can send and receive funds from each other. This formed the early "decentralized payment network": there is no need to pay high fees to intermediaries; instead, transaction nodes generated through blockchain technology can share transaction information with the network and receive direct rewards.
Compared to centralized infrastructure, decentralized infrastructure has four main advantages:
- Decentralization: Eliminates the authorization and restrictions of centralized entities, allowing users to fully control their on-chain interaction information.
- Composability: The components provided by systems supported by decentralized infrastructure can be selected and assembled in various combinations to meet specific user needs.
- Immutability: Once data is stored on the chain, it cannot be altered.
- Security: Decentralized infrastructure does not have a single point of failure, making it difficult for hackers to invade, and thus, unlike centralized products, it is less prone to data leaks.
The success of the Bitcoin network has gradually brought "decentralized infrastructure" into people's view, leading to exploration of decentralization in more fields, including networking, computing, storage, security, analytics, governance, and transactions. With the development of the Web 3.0 revolution, a large amount of capital and high-quality talent has begun to flow into this field, and the challenges facing the development of decentralized infrastructure have started to emerge, such as network congestion and costs, maintenance of Dapps, performance overhead, and user experience. Currently, developers have introduced Op Stack and the application of zero-knowledge (zk) technology, as well as Layer 2 scaling solutions to address these issues.
Decentralized infrastructure has always been an eternal theme in the blockchain field, and its development will face some variables that hinder large-scale application. More and more enterprises and investors are beginning to recognize the importance of decentralization and are investing substantial resources and efforts into this burgeoning field.
To assist explorers and investors in the decentralized field, this event by ByteTrade will collaborate with Consensys and MetaMask to provide valuable insights for the accelerated expansion of decentralized infrastructure in the Web 3.0 domain, discussing "how to accelerate decentralized infrastructure" and offering guidance on how to tackle the challenges faced during its expansion. ChainCatcher will also serve as exclusive media support, providing professional reporting and content support.
Event Overview:
"Accelerating Decentralized Infrastructure" is hosted by ByteTrade in collaboration with Consensys and MetaMask, with ChainCatcher providing exclusive media support. The aim is to provide valuable insights for the accelerated expansion of decentralized infrastructure in the Web 3.0 domain, where outstanding leaders and seasoned industry professionals will gather to discuss the journey of decentralized infrastructure.
About ByteTrade Lab
ByteTrade Lab is headquartered in Singapore and is supported by Susquehanna International Group ("SIG") affiliate SIG Asia Investment, LLLP, and several other leading institutional investors, including INCE Capital, BAI Capital, Sky9 Capital, BlueRun, and PCG (which has 50 companies). In June 2022, it secured millions in Series A funding.
ByteTrade Lab is actively building a Web 3.0 operating system called Terminus OS, which is constructed on a decentralized personal server network controlled by private keys, aimed at decentralizing the application and protocol layers of the internet and returning data ownership to users.
ByteTrade Lab is also incubating and early investing in Web 3.0 projects that are building decentralized versions of internet applications on Terminus OS. ByteTrade Lab aims to support builders in Web 3.0 by providing various resources, including but not limited to: technical expertise, product definition, business planning, GTM strategies, and funding.
