Blockstream's Core Lightning introduces the Splicing feature, providing users with a more convenient experience
ChainCatcher news, Blockstream's Core Lightning has announced the launch of the Splicing feature, aimed at providing Bitcoin Lightning wallet users with a cheaper and more streamlined experience.
It is reported that this feature has been added as an experimental option in the latest version of Core Lightning v23.08, referred to as "Satoshi's Successor." The Splicing technology allows users to add or remove funds to a single channel, eliminating the need for each user to have multiple channels that disperse liquidity.
Additionally, it allows wallet providers using this implementation to eliminate the distinction between users' on-chain Bitcoin and Lightning Network balances through a unified wallet, making this distinction largely irrelevant.
