ChainCatcher news, OpenSea announced that starting from August 31, 2023, it will implement an optional mechanism for creator fees, removing the OpenSea Operator Filter (the mandatory creator royalty tool). For existing collections currently using the OpenSea Operator Filter (as of August 31), OpenSea will enforce the creator fees specified on OpenSea until February 29, 2024. After that, creator fees will be optional.

For all existing collections on non-Ethereum blockchains, OpenSea will enforce the creator fees specified on OpenSea until February 29, 2024. After that, creator fees will be optional. For new collections, creator fees will be optional starting from August 31.
