Security Company: Over 500 scam tokens have appeared on the Base chain, with scammers profiting approximately 2 million dollars

ChainCatcher message, the blockchain risk monitoring company Solidus Labs stated that from mid-July to August, developers deployed over 500 scam tokens on the Coinbase L2 network BASE, such as BASEPEPE (BPEPE) and Baby Yoda (Yoda). Among them, about 300 tokens allow their creators to mint unlimited amounts, and another 60 tokens prevent buyers from reselling on exchanges. These scam tokens generated approximately $3.7 million in trading volume on Base-based decentralized exchanges, with scammers profiting around $2 million.
