ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, some FTX users received a "password reset" request email sent from FTX's official customer support email support@ftx.com. The password reset link directs users to FTX's claims portal, allowing users to submit bankruptcy claims for assets held before the platform's collapse.

Mossab Hussein, co-founder of cybersecurity company Spidersilk, stated that these unexpected emails could have two possibilities: "Either FTX itself sent these emails (notifying users about the claims portal) and scared people. Or, someone has a 'mailing list' and is violently resetting their credentials through the portal." An FTX spokesperson has not yet responded.

If hackers obtain users' personal email addresses, they could potentially access claimants' accounts and transfer funds to their personal wallets.
