ENS plans to expand to the Layer 2 ecosystem
ChainCatcher news, Ethereum Name Service (ENS) developer ENS Labs stated in a community conference call on Thursday that the protocol plans to achieve interoperability between ENS domains and Ethereum Layer 2.
The team mentioned that achieving interoperability with Ethereum Layer 2 will be a significant upgrade. They plan to utilize off-chain resolvers with the help of ENS off-chain registrar contracts and various service providers to implement the aforementioned upgrade.
In addition, ENS Labs indicated that Gasless DNS Names are expected to be released in the fourth quarter of this year to lower the entry barrier for traditional internet users. (source link)
