ChainCatcher message, the Bitcoin security sharing protocol Babylon has completed the v0.7.1 testnet upgrade, supporting all smart contract functionalities based on the CosmoWasm and Wasmd frameworks, allowing developers to extract security from Bitcoin to protect their applications and blockchains by deploying Babylon smart contracts.

According to RootData data, Babylon completed an $8 million seed round financing on January 1, 2022, and on March 9, 2023, Babylon launched its testnet. The Babylon testnet has integrated with 28 Cosmos SDK chains, including Osmosis, Akash, Sei Network, Injective, Evmos, and Stride. This upgrade expands Babylon's capabilities beyond the Cosmos ecosystem, enabling it to cater to a broader range of applications.
