Polkadot launched the decentralized governance platform Polkadot OpenGov, supporting multiple referendums simultaneously
ChainCatcher news, Polkadot has launched a decentralized and open governance platform called Polkadot OpenGov, simplifying its governance model. The improved governance platform abolishes "first-class citizens" like the Polkadot Council, replacing the Polkadot Council and Technical Committee with a newly elected body called the Polkadot Fellowship, which has no real power over the network and cannot change parameters or move assets. The Fellowship consists of 45 members, and this number may continue to grow as core developers submit candidates.
In addition, the new governance model supports voting on multiple issues simultaneously, all directly controlled by the community. The previous governance system could only conduct one referendum at a time, with each referendum lasting 28 days by default, allowing for only 12 or 13 referendums per year. (source link)
