ChainCatcher News, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a warning about the risks of fraudulent job advertisements related to human trafficking in Southeast Asian scams, where victims are held against their will, intimidated, and forced to participate in international cryptocurrency investment fraud schemes.

Criminals post fake job advertisements on social media and online job sites, covering positions such as technical support, call center customer service, and salon technicians, claiming that job seekers will receive competitive salaries, generous benefits, paid travel expenses, and accommodation. Once job seekers arrive abroad, criminals use various means to coerce them into participating in cryptocurrency investment schemes, such as confiscating passports and travel documents, making violent threats, or using direct violence.
