The first roadshow of the second Tokyo Web3 Summer Hackathon (TWSH), hosted by Cryptogram Venture (CGV) and initiated by Keio University, MetaFocus, and TEAMZ, co-hosted by CoinW Labs, concluded on May 17. CoinW Labs, together with Web3 elites from around the world, discovered more potential projects and supported the rapid growth of more quality Web3 projects.
The second TWSH event is positioned as "rooted in Japan, looking at the world," aiming to discover, support, and assist outstanding talents and teams in the Web3 field globally, exploring the application potential of various tracks in Web3, and helping teams and projects start and achieve sustainable growth. The event has received support from dozens of well-known institutions in the global blockchain industry, including CoinW Labs.
In terms of project solicitation, it covers not only popular Web3 tracks such as DeFi, GameFi, Metaverse, NFT, and SocialFi but also focuses on innovative trends such as zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), crypto AI integration, innovative stablecoins, DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks), soulbound tokens (SBT), fully on-chain games, and new social applications.
On the afternoon of the 17th, during the first roadshow day, 10 projects from around the world were divided into three groups to present their project attributes, development plans, or financing plans to investors. The organizers also invited several local Japanese and global Web3 professionals to hold three roundtable forums, discussing issues such as opportunities and challenges for Japan in the Web3 era, development predictions for Web3 and the crypto field in the next decade, and the current state of venture capital in the Web3 era. Among them, Carmen Tan, Strategic Manager of CoinW Labs, was invited to participate in the roundtable forum, sharing insights on how to establish a crypto economy, expand the audience for Web3, and weather storms in the next decade.
As a co-host of this event, CoinW Labs also participated in a hackathon for the first time. According to official information, CoinW Labs was established in early 2022, dedicated to building a world-class distributed ecological incubation laboratory, providing industry-leading and highly professional global blockchain investment incubation services to accelerate builders and achieve sustainable growth and development in the blockchain field. The business focuses on GameFi, NFT, DeFi, and other areas. Since its establishment, it has identified and incubated over 300 potential projects, achieving more than 20 times financial investment returns overall, gaining recognition in the industry for its high coverage and efficiency of services.
The person in charge of CoinW Labs stated that hackathons can be described as "the coolest developer carnival in the world" and are one of the easiest occasions to discover "genius." CoinW Labs hopes to further explore and cultivate talents and quality projects in the Web3 field through the hackathon competition, further improving the Web3 ecosystem, providing users with better experiences and diverse use cases, and contributing to the sustainable development of the industry.

It is understood that the second TWSH will be held from April to June, helping more projects obtain financing opportunities through online and offline roadshows. Ultimately, one champion group, two second-place groups, and six third-place groups will be selected, with a total prize pool of 10 million USDT. Award-winning projects will not only receive cash rewards but also have the opportunity to obtain additional investments worth millions of dollars.
Web3 is seen as an opportunity to achieve "the interconnection of internet value." The construction and development of the Web3 ecosystem require stronger and more revolutionary project ecosystems. The holding of the Web3 hackathon is undoubtedly a significant opportunity to discover and assist outstanding talents/teams and quality projects in the Web3 field globally, exploring the vast development space of Web3 together.
