According to ChainCatcher news, data from the ETH Store on the beaconcha.in website shows that this week the Ethereum staking reward rate (validator annual yield) has risen to a record high of 8.6% since the Ethereum merge. Validators have earned a total of 24,997 ETH (approximately 46 million USD), an increase of 40% compared to the 18,339 ETH (33 million USD) earned in the last week of April.

This surge is due to the recent meme coin frenzy, which has driven on-chain Gas fees to spike. Last week, the average Gas on Ethereum consistently exceeded 100 gwei, the highest level since May 2022, with each user transaction costing over 30 USD. With the rise in Gas, validators can earn higher fee income from processing transactions in addition to the regular validator rewards. (The Block)
