The International Monetary Fund denies involvement in a CBDC called Unicoin
ChainCatcher news, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) stated in a statement that the organization is not involved in the so-called CBDC named Unicoin.
It is reported that on April 10, the Digital Currency Management Authority (DCMA) announced a central bank digital currency named UMU or Unicoin, which was mistakenly reported that the IMF was involved in its creation, but in fact, the IMF only reviewed the project's white paper. Although the DCMA claims to be related to the government, Unicoin does not appear to be issued by any central bank. (source link)
