The BlockBooster Web3.0 Social Metaverse Hackathon, co-hosted by BlockBooster, OKX, Gitcoin, and 0xUClub, successfully concluded on April 9 at the University of Hong Kong. After several weeks of online communication and three days of intensive on-site training, guidance, and development gathering, seven teams ultimately stood out among dozens of participating teams and won awards.

This hackathon witnessed many outstanding and creative participants showcasing their talents and innovative capabilities. Contestants fully utilized their knowledge and skills to develop various interesting Web3.0 social projects based on blockchain technology. The hackathon produced many forward-looking solutions that are expected to bring change and innovation to the future of the Web3.0 field.

The judging panel for this hackathon included: JunHao - AtlLayer, Yisi - Mask, Runchen - TonStarter, KC - Hooga Gaming, Stella - PANONY, Sam - Avalanche, Jupiter - Hashkey Capital, Xinxin - Moonbeam, Frank - Arcane Group, Atlas - RSS3. The judges provided constructive assistance with their strict and fair evaluation attitude, professional feedback, and suggestions, earning unanimous praise from all developers present.

On the final day of the BlockBooster Web3.0 Hackathon, Jeff Ren, a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's Financial Services Advisory Committee and partner at OKX Ventures, delivered an opening speech as a special guest. Jeff stated that OKX aims to promote the development of Web3.0 in Hong Kong in collaboration with BlockBooster through this hackathon, creating an innovation center for local projects, students, and industry participants. Jeff also encouraged young people to seize development opportunities in Hong Kong, actively shine, and contribute to the industry and Hong Kong's Web3.0.

The winning teams of the BlockBooster Web3.0 Social Metaverse Hackathon are as follows:

Champion: US3R

US3R Network is a data infrastructure aimed at expanding Web3 use cases from fintech to various fields.

US3R focuses on a developer platform and application ecosystem for decentralized off-chain programmable data, allowing developers of social and content protocols to quickly complete protocol development by defining common data types without worrying about the underlying data infrastructure.

First Prize: CoinArcade

CoinArcade is a Web3 casual gaming platform with over 100 trendy games and a Skill-to-Earn model.

Second Prize (Tied): Boomerang

Boomerang is a programmable service that securely decentralizes and retrieves information using blockchain technology and provides information content recovery features.

Second Prize (Tied): Questflow

Questflow is an intelligent workflow platform dedicated to automating repetitive tasks and unleashing creativity. This Web3-native #NoCode intelligent workflow automation platform helps teams using the product work more efficiently.

OKX Ventures Choice Award: Discoverse

Discoverse is an open social network based on soulbound tokens (SBT).

Hashkey Capital Choice Award: Maysocial

MAY is the world's first mobile-friendly social metaverse that supports multi-user interaction. Personalized virtual avatars allow users to enter the MAYverse virtual world with their own voice and facial expressions.

Incuba Alpha Choice Award: Portkey

Portkey is a CA wallet with a social recovery DID solution. Simple, secure, low-cost, and multifunctional, it guides projects and the next billion users from Web2 to Web3.

As a representative of Gitcoin, one of the co-hosts of this hackathon, Juanna and Ale K shared Gitcoin's Asia Development Plan on the final day and stated that Gitcoin will explore more support solutions for developers in the Asia-Pacific region in collaboration with its partner BlockBooster.
