Elon Musk founded a new artificial intelligence company, X.AI
According to ChainCatcher, a document from relevant agencies in Nevada cited by The Verge shows that Elon Musk established his new artificial intelligence company X.AI on March 9, 2023. Currently, the company is led by Musk as the director, with Jared Birchall, director of the Musk family office, serving as the secretary.
Previously, a report from Business Insider indicated that Musk has recently purchased thousands of graphics processing units (GPUs) to power the upcoming generative AI products. The Financial Times also reported that Musk plans to create an AI company to compete with Microsoft-backed OpenAI, and he has even sought funding from investors in SpaceX and Tesla to launch the company. It is reported that Musk has been publicly opposed to the AI organization OpenAI, which he co-founded in 2015 but left in 2018, and he recently signed an open letter calling for a pause on "giant AI experiments."
