A report compiled by an EU agency calls for strict checks on the identities of exchange users
ChainCatcher news, a report funded by the European Commission calls for stricter identity checks for users of cryptocurrency exchanges to ensure that users of exchanges, brokers, and ATMs can be identified when cashing out illegal proceeds. The report also states that a complete ban on the use of cryptocurrencies is ineffective in curbing darknet activities, and law enforcement agencies need training on the technologies being used as well as new investigative techniques required for such investigations.
