Scammers impersonate architects to defraud HK$24.5 million in cryptocurrency investment scheme

ChainCatcher news, a 44-year-old woman became a victim of a cryptocurrency scam, where a fraudster impersonated a Taiwanese architect and befriended her through the messaging app WhatsApp, subsequently scamming her.

According to sources, from June last year to January this year, she transferred 24.5 million HKD to the bank account designated by the scammer in 65 transactions. (source link)
