Secured financing of 64.4 million USD, how does the Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer interact?
Source: Jiawei, Investment Partner at IOSG Ventures
On April 7, the Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer launched the first phase of its testnet on the Ethereum Goerli network, currently supporting only liquidity restaking and native restaking. Liquidity staking allows for the restaking of various liquidity tokens on the EigenLayer contract. The release of EigenLayer will occur in three phases: stakers, node operators, and services. EigenLayer stated that this testnet is an early non-incentivized testnet, and the code is actively being developed. IOSG Ventures investment partner Jiawei updated an interactive tutorial on Twitter, and BlockBeats has summarized the content as follows:
If you do not have ETH on the Goerli testnet, please first obtain some from the following faucet: goerlifaucet.com
The current EigenLayer testnet (https://goerli.eigenlayer.xyz) offers two types of Restaking: LSD Restaking and Native Restaking. We recommend the former for beginners. You will need to obtain Rocketpool's rETH and Lido's stETH on the testnet.
- Here (https://testnet.rocketpool.net), exchange your Goerli ETH for Rocketpool's rETH.
- To obtain Lido's stETH, click "Send" in your MetaMask wallet and copy the contract address (0x1643E812aE58766192Cf7D2Cf9567dF2C37e9B7F). Next, select the amount of stETH you wish to exchange and follow the instructions to complete the exchange. After a successful exchange, copy the above address in your wallet and add stETH to your wallet.
- The preparation work is now complete. You can return to the EigenLayer testnet homepage to perform Restaking. Click on the options for Rocketpool ETH and Lido Staked ETH, and follow the instructions to complete the Restaking!
- If you want to continue trying Native Staking, please refer to the EigenLayer official documentation https://docs.eigenlayer.xyz.
