BitKeep Continues Independent Operations, Strengthening Security Risk Control System

A week ago, the crypto derivatives exchange Bitget completed an additional investment of $30 million in BitKeep, becoming its majority shareholder, and announced a business integration between the two parties. While expanding Bitget's service scope, Bitget will assist BitKeep in enhancing product stability and security in research and development, providing resource support for BitKeep's global market expansion. Both parties will leverage their respective advantages to build a bridge connecting the centralized and decentralized worlds.

Following this upgrade, BitKeep will rely on the security system and fund protection measures established by Bitget, sharing a $300 million Bitget risk protection fund to strengthen its risk resistance capabilities and safeguard user funds. Additionally, BitKeep is launching a series of security measures, including comprehensive client fortification, implementing stricter pre-release review processes, upgrading APK packages to include MD5 checks, and adopting industry-leading one-device-one-key encryption algorithms to enhance communication security, among others.

Based on its collaboration with the SlowMist team, BitKeep has introduced Certik as a new security audit partner. Currently, BitKeep has completed the security audit of the core code for Swap and NFT marketplace protocols; it has also launched a QR code protocol for connecting hardware wallets, enabling the mobile version to integrate mainstream hardware wallets, striving to achieve the best balance between security and convenience.

At the same time, BitKeep announced that it has fully compensated all affected users who meet the compensation criteria from the security incident in December last year.

After Bitget's investment and becoming the majority shareholder, BitKeep will continue to operate independently with its own organizational structure. In terms of management structure, one of the original co-founders and CEO Kevin Como will step down, with Chief Product Officer Karry Cheung taking over as CEO. In the next phase, BitKeep will build an efficient team centered around products, with some outstanding talents from Bitget joining BitKeep's research and development and security teams to jointly enhance the wallet's service stability and security.

Since its establishment in 2018, BitKeep has gone through more than four years of development. As a decentralized wallet and Web3 asset interaction platform, it provides users with various functions such as asset storage, multi-chain exchange, NFT trading, DApp browser, and Launchpad. Today, BitKeep covers 168 countries and regions worldwide, attracting over 9.5 million users, making it one of the world's leading decentralized multi-chain wallets.

The crypto industry has developed in a spiral manner, and compared to the Bitcoin era over a decade ago, it has undergone tremendous changes. The underlying financial framework of DeFi is gradually being built, and a thriving decentralized ecosystem has begun to take shape, giving rise to many practical application scenarios under the multi-chain ecosystem. The industry is continuously iterating, and the ecosystem is becoming increasingly rich, attracting more and more investors, developers, and entrepreneurs, who are raising higher demands for infrastructure tools such as wallets. Today, wallets are no longer just simple storage tools; they carry an ecosystem, providing users with convenient access to the Web3 world.

In the past few years, BitKeep has actively adapted to the changing market, continuously expanding its service scope to meet users' diverse needs. BitKeep is the gateway for users to enter the Web3 world, participate in DeFi mining, play GameFi chain games, buy the trendiest NFTs, engage in the creator economy, and experience the X2 Earn metaverse; BitKeep is the tool users love for on-chain interactions, freely exchanging between chains and seeking popular assets. Bitget Wallet: Faster Transactions, Better Assets, Your Future Trading Wallet

The new brand will continue to uphold BitKeep's positioning, providing users with secure, convenient, and efficient digital asset management services. At the same time, it aims to become one of the most popular trading wallets for future Web3 users, allowing them to enjoy faster transactions and better assets.

Looking ahead, BitKeep will continue to enrich product features, exploring and researching in the fields of MPC (Multi-Party Computation) and AA (Account Abstraction). Additionally, BitKeep is developing features related to Web3 DID (Decentralized Identity) and actively supporting ZK-Rollup ecosystem construction. Meanwhile, BitKeep is also investing in the development of MPC wallets, achieving private key sharding and adopting a 2/3 threshold signature scheme to address the single-point risk of private key management while maintaining decentralization, providing users with an environment that does not require memorizing mnemonic phrases/private keys.

Regarding this strong alliance with Bitget, BitKeep's Chief Operating Officer Moka Hahn stated: "By joining the Bitget ecosystem, we will have more advantageous resources to continuously optimize and iterate our products, continue to practice innovation, explore more potential technological breakthroughs and application scenarios, and further promote the popularization and application of Web3 technology globally. We will also be more confident in competing in the global market, striving to go further and higher while maintaining a leading position in an increasingly competitive market."

As for the reason for choosing to cooperate with BitKeep, Bitget's Managing Director Gracy Chen responded: "We have noticed that the demand for decentralized asset storage and Web3 entry-level applications continues to rise. BitKeep's product features and user experience have always received high praise. We invested in BitKeep starting in 2021, and this additional investment to gain control also represents Bitget's emphasis on the wallet track, hoping to integrate quality resources to prepare for the market growth of the next billion users."

No matter how applications change, the underlying infrastructure that supports them will always endure. In the ever-evolving wallet track, BitKeep has been continuously updating itself, challenging new heights.
