ChainCatcher news, DeFi protocol Safemoon's CEO John Karony stated on Twitter: "The security incident affected the SFM:BNB LP pool; other LP pools on the DEX were not impacted. We have identified the suspicious vulnerability and have fixed it, and we have also hired blockchain forensic consultants to determine the exact nature and extent of the vulnerability. Our DEX is secure, and user funds are safe. Any upcoming upgrades and releases are also unaffected."

Earlier news reported that the DeFi protocol Safemoon, based on the BNB Chain, was attacked earlier today, resulting in a loss of nearly $8.9 million from its liquidity pool. Subsequently, the attacker expressed on-chain a desire to return the funds. (source link)
