ChainCatcher news, payment giant Stripe has completed a $6.5 billion Series I funding round at a valuation of $50 billion, with investors including a16z, Baillie Gifford, Founders Fund, General Catalyst, MSD Partners, Thrive Capital, GIC, Goldman Sachs, and Temasek.
Stripe stated that this round of funding will not be used to expand its business, but rather to provide liquidity for former and current employees and to address employee withholding tax obligations related to equity incentives. (Source link)
