Hong Kong, February 10, 2023 --- FOMO Asia is a global Web3 movement aimed at transforming public skepticism into trust in blockchain technology and applications. The team believes that the acronym originally meaning "Fear of Missing Out (FOMO)" should be further defined as "Force of Progress," and that global Web3 opinion leaders, founders, creators, investors, and even regulatory bodies should work together to drive blockchain innovation.

The FOMO Asia team announced today that the flagship event, FOMO Asia Summit (Genesis Conference), will be held from March 20 to 23 in the core business district of Hong Kong, with the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre serving as the main stage for the event. FOMO Asia has also received official support from the Hong Kong government's Invest Hong Kong and the Tourism Board.

Richard Li is a partner at Gate.io Ventures, the venture capital arm of the leading exchange Gate.io. As an experienced private equity investor, Richard began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and has been involved in digital infrastructure and mining through private equity fund investments at Hamilton Lane (managing $901 billion in assets) and leveraged buyouts at I Squared Capital (managing $45 billion in assets). He will speak at the FOMO Asia Summit to share his insights on the future development of blockchain and investment experiences.

Richard is a founding member of Cornell Blockchain and serves on the board of the Cornell Club, leading the Ivy League's cryptocurrency project.

The four-day event, hosted by FOMO Asia and co-organized by CrossSpace and HKGDAO, will take place at various venues in Hong Kong's core area, featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, project showcases, roadshows, and business networking opportunities. Among the carefully curated themes is the Web3 Bootcamp, aimed at providing the public with foundational blockchain knowledge; additionally, the conference will grandly host startup roadshows, attracting numerous well-known VCs, investors, and entrepreneurial teams from both domestic and international backgrounds.

Unlike other conferences, FOMO Asia believes that discussions about Web3 should not be limited to the duration of the event. Since last week, the FOMO Asia team has launched a series of online activities to connect the Web3 community in advance. The team has interviewed several influential Web3 leaders globally.

For example, Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, and Ray Chan, CEO of Memeland, have been invited to share their experiences of Fear of Missing Out while continuing to develop in the Web3 space. The team hopes to gather these voices to announce the united power of Web3 to the public in the future, building trust in blockchain technology.
