WSJ: US Senator demands Binance to provide operational information including balance sheets from 2017 to present
ChainCatcher news, according to The Wall Street Journal, three U.S. senators have sent a letter to Binance founder Changpeng Zhao and his top U.S. deputy Brian Shroder stating that "Binance and its related entities have deliberately evaded regulators, transferring assets to criminals and sanction evaders, and hiding essential financial information from their customers and the public."
The senators requested that Zhao and Brian Shroder provide a copy of Binance's balance sheet since 2017, as well as the number of U.S. users on its platform during that period. Additionally, the senators requested documents related to Binance's anti-money laundering policies and procedures; information regarding the relationship between global exchanges and their U.S. affiliates; and disclosure of any communications that may indicate compliance restrictions, and demanded that Binance respond by March 16.
In response, Binance stated in a statement that much misinformation about the company has been circulated, but they appreciate the senators' request and will provide information to help them better understand the company. (Source link)
