Former Metamask Head Launches Web3 Game Launcher HyperPlay

ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, the Web3 game DAO Game7 and the pseudonymous JacobC.eth (former head of operations at MetaMask) have jointly developed the Web3 game launcher HyperPlay, which is now live in early access. HyperPlay is also a game store aggregator, providing access to the Epic Games and Guild of Guardians stores within its interface. HyperPlay is best suited for the MetaMask wallet. It also works with WalletConnect, supporting over 40 different crypto wallet providers.

HyperPlay is "solving the distribution problem and freeing game developers from the risk of being de-platformed by monopolistic companies like Apple, Google, or Steam." HyperPlay will generate revenue by offering "convenience features" within the app, rather than taking a cut from game sales or transactions, similar to how MetaMask generates revenue. (source link)
