Yuga Labs reaches a settlement in the Bored Ape NFT trademark lawsuit
ChainCatcher news, BAYC parent company Yuga Labs has reached a settlement in a lawsuit with Thomas Lehman, who established the website and smart contracts for Ryder Ripps' BAYC knockoff RR/BAYC series. The settlement terms include prohibiting Thomas Lehman from using any BAYC logos in any way, destroying any materials he owns or controls that publicly display BAYC logos, and destroying any RR/BAYC NFTs he owns.
Previously reported, Yuga Labs sued NFT artist Ryder Ripps for using "Bored Ape" images in the "RR/BAYC" NFT series, but only accused him of false advertising, trademark infringement, and domain squatting, without involving copyright disputes. (CoinDesk)
