FTX has urged politicians, including Nancy Pelosi, to return previous political donations by February 28

ChainCatcher news, according to Insider, the already bankrupt FTX stated on Sunday that it is contacting payees who received payments from SBF, other FTX executives, or any affiliated companies that have filed for bankruptcy. Among them, FTX employees donated a total of $90 million to politicians, and the debtors are trying to recover this amount to repay customers. FTX has requested that politicians and political action committees return the donations made by company employees by February 28.

According to data from OpenSecrets, SBF previously donated $40 million to Democratic causes, and in addition, the former CEO of FTX Bahamas, Ryan Salame, donated $23 million, while former engineering director Nishad Singh donated $7.9 million.

Furthermore, among the 196 politicians funded by FTX, only five have indicated that they have successfully returned the funds. Notable politicians Nancy Pelosi and John Fetterman are among the donors who have not yet returned the funds. As of the time of publication, it is unclear whether the two have returned their donations. (Insider)
