The President of Panama has submitted the cryptocurrency bill, which was approved by the parliament last year, to the Supreme Court for review
ChainCatcher news, Panama's President Laurentino Cortizo has submitted the cryptocurrency bill, which was passed by the parliament last year, to the Supreme Court for review on January 26. He had previously partially vetoed this legislation, claiming it violated core constitutional principles, and the Supreme Court now needs to decide on the bill's feasibility.
It is reported that in April last year, Panama's legislative assembly passed the cryptocurrency regulatory bill, which regulates the issuance of digital currencies and the tokenization of other goods, and allows citizens to use cryptocurrencies as a means of payment for goods and services as well as taxes. In June, President Laurentino Cortizo partially vetoed the country's regulatory bill on crypto assets, Bill No. 697, and sent it back to the National Assembly. (source link)
