ChainCatcher news, Gitcoin officially announced that the Gitcoin Alpha Round second-degree financing will take place from January 17 to January 31, 2023. This round will support 200 grantees dedicated to open-source software, Ethereum infrastructure, and climate solutions, with a total matching fund of $1 million.

It is reported that during the Alpha testing round, donors can claim a POAP for each round they participate in. Users who collect all POAPs will be eligible to enter a raffle to win the Schelling Point VIP package, which includes $150 worth of Gitcoin products.

In addition, Gitcoin will transition to a blockchain-based grant protocol in 2023, allowing anyone to launch second-degree financing grant projects. This protocol will enable funders to establish a grant project at any time, increasing flexibility for grantees who can apply across different rounds and for donors who wish to provide small amounts of funding.
