The issuance date of Mexico's CBDC may be postponed until 2024

ChainCatcher news, according to Cryptoslate, the Central Bank of Mexico may indicate that it will determine a specific launch date for a CBDC within the deadline of 2024 to 2025, but it suggests that the entire timeline for the CBDC is uncertain.

It is reported that the Central Bank of Mexico allocated 10.22 million pesos (532,000 USD) for the creation of the CBDC in the fiscal year 2022. The CBDC is being developed in three phases. The first phase will involve the creation of a platform called PagoCel, which will ultimately be used for mobile and PIN-based transfers. The second phase will see financial institutions adopting the CBDC. In the third and final phase, individuals will be able to use the asset. (source link)
