ChainCatcher news, the former CEO of BitMEX, Alexander Höptner, who was previously dismissed, is claiming $3.4 million from BitMEX for wrongful termination and breach of contract. According to documents submitted by Alexander Höptner, BitMEX conducted a "baseless" internal investigation against him, which allowed them to avoid paying millions in salary and bonuses. The focus of the BitMEX investigation was on Alexander Höptner's move from Hong Kong to Singapore, and later to Germany, and they alleged that he misappropriated company funds for the relocation.

Alexander Höptner's lawyer stated that the company's accusations are "completely unfounded" and claimed that BitMEX owes him $3.4 million, plus damages, specifically including a $2.4 million "two-year anniversary bonus," salary, and housing and education allowances. (The Block)
