ConsenSys: Plans to retain MetaMask user data for only 7 days

ChainCatcher news, ConsenSys responded to user data privacy concerns raised by the recently updated privacy policy and committed that "when MetaMask users make 'read' requests through Infura, wallet account address information and associated IP addresses will not be stored; when MetaMask users broadcast transactions through Infura's RPC endpoints, we collect wallet and IP address information related to 'write' requests (also known as transactions); IP address and wallet address data related to transactions are not stored together; we will retain and delete user data, such as IP addresses and wallet addresses, according to our data retention policy, and are working to shorten the retention period to 7 days; we have never, and will never, sell any user data collected."
