PayPal co-founded venture capital Valar Ventures holds a 19% stake in BlockFi
ChainCatcher news indicates that, according to documents submitted to the bankruptcy court, Valar Ventures, a venture capital firm spun off from Thiel Capital, founded by PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, owns 19% of the bankrupt crypto lending company BlockFi, making Valar one of BlockFi's largest shareholders.
Earlier this year, another cryptocurrency lending institution supported by Valar, Vauld Group, froze customer withdrawals and sought protection from its creditors in Singapore. (The Wall Street Journal)
