The founder of Akula questions Reth under Paradigm for copying its code
ChainCatcher news, Ethereum client Erigon recently announced that it will no longer support the Rust version of Akula, as a Rust-based Ethereum implementation has been discovered to be open source, with a scope nearly identical to that of Akula.
Akula founder Artem Vorotnikov subsequently posted on social media: "Unfortunately, we cannot compete with that venture capital firm that copied and pasted the Akula architecture and code. Open source, right?" Although Artem Vorotnikov did not specify who "that venture capital firm" is, observers quickly pointed fingers at Paradigm on social media.
Artem Vorotnikov later retweeted a screenshot of Paradigm's Chief Technology Officer Georgios Konstantopoulos insisting that the company did not fork Akula, stating, "Some people want to be named and shamed," directly accusing Paradigm of plagiarizing the "Rust wrapper libmdbx" code, which Paradigm relied on and copied, but was rejected by developer @n0computer for use in IPFS execution.
