The Washington Post: SBF and his associates spent at least $70 million on pandemic prevention

ChainCatcher news, The Washington Post found through a review of relevant lobbying disclosures, federal records, and other sources that since October 2021, SBF and the Gabe brothers, along with their network of relationships, have spent at least $70 million on research projects and campaign donations aimed at improving biosafety and preventing the next pandemic.

The Washington Post also found that in the months leading up to the FTX collapse, the SBF family and their network rapidly increased spending on pandemic prevention initiatives, including a $12 million support for a California ballot initiative to strengthen public health programs and over $11 million invested in a congressional primary for an Oregon biosafety expert.
