ChainCatcher news, EU Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni stated that central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) may require an international transaction network to prevent state-sponsored funds from infringing on the sovereignty of other countries. Currently, the EU is considering the design of a digital euro, but issues such as how the digital euro will be used for cross-border payments need to be addressed. (CoinDesk)
