Animoca founder: Meta defines the metaverse as "similar to VR," which is incorrect
ChainCatcher news, Animoca Brands founder Yat Siu stated during the Lisbon conference that there is no metaverse without Web3, as you need a transaction layer to achieve interoperability between contents.
He added that Animoca Brands is setting standards in this regard and is leading the establishment of the "Open Metaverse Alliance," which is dedicated to creating interoperability standards within the metaverse. These standards will allow NFT content purchased on one metaverse platform to seamlessly integrate with another platform.
Robby Yung also believes that VR is just "a platform" through which to access the metaverse; regarding Meta defining the metaverse as "similar to VR," Yung thinks this is "a mistake." (source link)
