The report shows that in the third quarter of 2022, the total amount of investment and financing in the domestic metaverse reached 22.84 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.22 billion yuan compared to the second quarter, down 8.9% quarter-on-quarter; the total number of investment events was 339, an increase of 188 events compared to the second quarter, up 125% quarter-on-quarter. Among the companies that disclosed their financing amounts in the third quarter, there were 49 events with financing exceeding 100 million yuan, accounting for 14.5% of the total investment and financing events, with a total financing amount of 19.6 billion yuan, accounting for over 86% of the total financing amount.
From the perspective of sector distribution, the domestic metaverse market investment and financing mainly involves four major areas: hardware, software, infrastructure, and application scenarios. Among them, the hardware sector had a total of 270 investment and financing events, accounting for 79.6% of the total investment and financing events; the total amount of investment and financing in the hardware sector was 21.6 billion yuan, accounting for 64% of the total investment and financing amount, with both the number and total amount of investment and financing in the hardware sector increasing by more than 10 times compared to the second quarter. In addition, the report states that the total financing amount of the top ten companies in the domestic metaverse reached 11.584 billion yuan, accounting for 50.7% of the total investment and financing events, indicating a significant trend of polarization in the distribution of domestic investment and financing, with a preliminary formation of a "stronger getting stronger" situation.
